Transforming care agenda in learning Disabilities (Winterbourne)
One of the key programmes within the scope of NHS England’s work has been the development of the ‘Assuring Transformation’ data collection exercise which has enabled regions to identify the numbers of people with learning disabilities currently living within hospital settings. The data set which supported this process identified a number of factors which were felt to influence the potential discharge for the person. However, since its introduction these figures continue to show that the numbers of people living in hospitals for long periods remains consistently high.
