The closure of day hospitals nationally and the reconfiguration of social care agenda’s has subsequently led to many changes in the remit of community provision for dementia, with what has emerged as day centres offering support for service users and their families/carers and often functioning as social enterprises.
One mental health trust in the Northwest were keen to understand existing return on investment based on historical funding agreements into what was predominantly a ‘hospital model’.
JMB Health Consultancy is commissioned to work twofold jointly across health and social care, firstly to understand the existing specification of the service and a profile of those accessing it, and subsequently determine a value for money perspective of existing financial and resource contributions.
