Understanding Commissioning, and particularly of mental health services, can often be confusing for professionals especially in terms of the different funding streams that exist alongside the statutory obligations of Primary Care Trusts (soon to be the responsibility of Clinical Commissioning Groups – CCGs).
JMB Health Consultancy has experience in developing joint funding panels and working with NHS auditors to develop clear and transparent funding streams. In our Commissioning Workshops we have been sharing that knowledge with local NHS provider trusts and senior clinicians. Outcomes from these sessions have provided a valuable ‘shared learning’ experience enabling clinicians to contribute their understanding and past experiences of funding panels to the session, allowing them to grow their skills and us to tailor the sessions to meet individual and organisational needs.
