Project Description

As a component of contract schedules, Quality and Innovation Incentives (CQUIN) have encouraged Mental Health Trusts to think more innovatively about how they can improve upon the delivery of holistic services and pathways of care.

One North West mental health trust has developed a ‘health and wellbeing service’ currently sitting alongside their accredited Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services providing a variety of support and therapy services.

JMB Health Consultancy where invited to work with service users and staff to evaluate their ‘Light Therapy Service’ which has been created to provide a controlled environment for service users who present with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The project was able to identify:

  • The number of service users who have accessed the service
  • The outcomes that have been delivered
  • Scoping the market in relation to future demand
  • Understanding the potential for a sustainable business model
